The 2025 Communications Training, with the theme “Ready Together,” was held in Pasadena, California, on July 15-16, 2025. The training is hosted by Listos California, a statewide network working towards emergency preparedness and an initiative of the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES). The two-day training was attended by over 200 community-based organizations trained in emergency preparedness.

On February 20, the TESOROS x HAPPY ANDRADA: A Fusion of Heritage and Modern Filipino Design was launched in celebration of Tesoro’s 80th anniversary. The fashion show showcased a 15-piece collection made from authentic fabrics such as Inaul, cocoon, piña, piña silk, t’nalak, and inabel.

A business mixer, investment, and tax briefing event was held in the Sierra Room of the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts last April 19, 2024. The event’s purpose was to encourage business owners and organizations to invest in the Philippines now. Many dignitaries, community leaders, and business owners attended, and the Philippine consulate general of Los Angeles was also present.

Disney Kababayan, an organization under SoCal Filipinos hosted another successful Filipino Weekend at Disneyland Resort, Anaheim, California. The weekend-long event spanned from April 19 to April 21, 2024,. The purpose of the event was to gather Filipino-Americans in California and enjoy a great weekend with the community through activities in Disneyland. 

The holiday season is a time for coming together, celebrating achievements, and spreading joy. This year, Remitly is taking this spirit to a whole new level with "MerRemitly Christmas." This appreciation holiday event is a festive gathering and an opportunity to recognize ten remarkable individuals from the FilAm business and healthcare community who have made significant positive impacts in 2023.

On September 27-28, Ca Care Association was in the Anaheim Convention Center. It was filled with people during the Disaster Expo USA event. The expo was a 2-day event and had a variety of activities and guest speakers presenting the newest strategies in disaster prevention and others that provided attendees with hands-on experience and expanded their connections. 

Listos California in collaboration with the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services conducted a Regional Disaster Ready Summit across California last September, including Los Angeles. The main goal of the event was to help the community understand how to respond to emergencies and to connect local emergency teams with community groups. 

Ca Care Association and MovEssentials will be hosting the first session of the First Aid CPR training on September 30!
