In 2020, an estimated 6.7 million people were caregivers. According to the UCLA Center for Health Policy Research, these caregivers who provided help to a friend or family member with serious illness and disability were predominantly women (57.7%). Caregivers of varying age groups face challenges in their duty of providing care on top of work, family, and other obligations. Training addresses the challenges that caregivers face in providing elderly care.

In recent years, California has experienced a significant increase in the frequency and intensity of wildfires. California almost always tops the list of states with the most wildfires, this is primarily due to their climate. Wildfires have caused thousands of acres to be burned resulting in loss of homes, destruction of the ecosystem, and many more. Ca Care Association recognizes these risks and the effects of wildfires in California, hence why we are conducting free online Wildfire Preparedness Training for everyone. This blog will give you a brief idea about wildfire preparedness and what you can learn from our upcoming training.

It's a wrap for Ca Care Association and Philippine Consulate General’s “Empowering Filipinos in Care” webinar series. The first webinar was held on July 13, 2023 - Empowering Filipino Business Owners, and the second on July 27, 2023 - Empowering Filipino Migrant Workers. Both webinars were a success with over a hundred plus participants. “Empowering Filipinos in Care” is designed to address the unique challenges and opportunities faced by Filipinos in the care industry. Our purpose is clear: to provide crucial support, shed light on labor rights, and empower those who play a vital role in the care industry.

Ca Care Association in partnership with Listos California recently had a GO BAG preparedness workshop in Carson Community Center last January 12, 2024. This training is aimed at teaching the community about emergency preparedness by educating them about the importance of a go bag and how to ready their own. The event was led by Nadia Wiggins from Listos California who shared professional insights about go bags and the essentials needs of everyone in case of emergencies. 

As caregivers, you assist your clients every day, especially in activities of daily living. This essential training equips caregivers with the expertise to assist clients with everyday tasks, enhancing their quality of life. Many seniors struggle with these activities, and your training will make a big difference in providing the care they need.

Heart attacks and strokes are significant health challenges faced by a considerable number of elderly individuals in the United States. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), about 805,000 people in the United States have a heart attack every year, and 795 000 people have a stroke. These medical emergencies can have severe consequences for the individuals.

Effective communication and advocacy play a vital role in ensuring residents' well-being and quality of life, as well as creating meaningful relationships between caregivers and those under their care. Caregivers may miss crucial information about residents' medical conditions, medications, or treatment plans, leading to potential errors.
